Domestic Abuse

Abuse can be psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional and family members are defined as mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister and grandparents, whether directly related, in laws or step family.

Are you a victim of domestic abuse?

The evidence is clear that most people trapped in an abusive or violent relationship will endure huge amounts of suffering before ever making a report or a cry for help. Domestic abuse affects not only the victim of that abuse but also children and other family members.

The Bracknell Forest Abuse Violence Forum and the The Crime and Disorder Reduction Team are promoting the confidential reporting of domestic abuse in order to reduce the harm that this causes to victims and families.

Thames Valley Police operate a positive intervention policy whereby any disclosure of a domestic abuse crime will be investigated fully.

If you need to speak to someone about domestic abuse, you can call the Crime and Disorder Reduction Team on 01344 351 786 or you can contact any of the following organisations:

All calls will be treated in the strictest confidence.
