Community Safety

TreeOne of Bracknell Forest Borough Council’s Medium Term Objectives for 2008-11 is set out under Priority 4: ‘To reduce crime and increase people’s sense of safety in the Borough' by:

  • Working with the Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership to reduce crime by 3% each year by 2011
  • Reducing the number of people who fear crime by 10% by 2011
  • Expanding the CCTV network coverage in the Borough
  • Using ‘speedwatch’ anti-speeding teams to reduce the incidence of speeding
  • Reducing the number of people, particularly young people, abusing drugs and alcohol.’

Community safety in Bracknell Forest is co-ordinated by the Crime & Disorder Reduction Team, in conjunction with other agencies, and we are committed to ensuring that Bracknell Forest remains one of the safest places to live and work in Berkshire. This is important not just to make a positive impact on those who live and work in the Borough but also to ensure the sustainability of the communities within the Borough. A safe and secure community is also more likely to be a prosperous community.

On this site, you can find information relating to our Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP), its recent Strategic Assessment of crime and disorder in the Borough as well as its Partnership Plan for 2008-2011, which sets out its targets and objectives for the next 3 years.
