| The new Substance Misuse Family & Friends Group will meet at 7.00 pm - 9.00 pm on the last Thursday of every month at New Hope. |
New hope is an exciting development for the delivery of substance misuse services in Bracknell Forest.
It provides a range of substance misuse services under one roof for men and women aged over 18 who live in Bracknell Forest:
- Advice
- Aftercare support program
- Assistance with benefit claims
- Blood borne virus advice and vaccination program
- Community Care assessments
- Counselling
- Criminal Justice worker
- Drop in
- Dual diagnosis
- Harm reduction
- Housing advice
- Information
- Life skills
- Low level community support
- Rapid prescribing
- Referral into Tier 4 services (in-patient treatment)
- Relapse prevention
- Self referral
- Single point of contact for professional referrals
- Structured day care
Recent developments include:
- Peer mentor training
- Evening appointments
- Non-pharmacy needle exchange
These services are aimed at people who use drugs or have recently stopped using drugs and want to address their substance misuse.
How can I access New Hope?
New Hope is the first point of contact for all substance misuse services in Bracknell Forest. Self referrals can be made either by phoning us on the tel. number given on the right or by attending one of the following drop-in sessions:
- Tuesday - 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm
- Friday - 10.00 am. to 12.30 pm
There is no need to make an appointment for a drop-in session. You will be seen by a worker who can provide advice, information, further appointments and referrals to specialist services.
Referrals will also be accepted from other agencies including the Community Mental Health Team, Probation, prisons, GPs and voluntary organisations.
Those with alcohol misuse issues will need to make an appointment with their GP.
Where is New Hope located?
New Hope is located in Bracknell Town Centre, near the Market Place. Once you are in the town centre, follow the signs to the Market Place and walk past Woolworths and Iceland. New Hope is on the upper level above these shops.
