Substance Misuse

Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs) are charged with responsibility for delivering the National Drug Strategy at a local level. The DAATs ensure that the work of local agencies is brought together effectively and that cross agency projects are co-ordinated successfully.

There are a number of services available in Bracknell Forest for adults and young people who are affected by substance misuse.

Advice and support for adults

New Hope Drugs Support Centre is the first point of contact to residents of the borough who need to access substance misuse services.

New Hope is designed to service residents who are over the age of 18. A number of different agencies are based at New Hope and they provide a full range of services which include information, advice, support, counselling, structured day care, access to specialist prescribing and, where appropriate, referral to in-patient detox and residential rehabilitation.

For more information, please see Drugs - Advice and Support.

Advice and support for young people

There are a variety of agencies that will work with young people with substance misuse, but if you are worried about yourself, your child or someone you know the first point of contact is the Young People's Substance Misuse Worker who can be contacted on 01344 354300.
