Supported Lodgings - How You Can Help

Bracknell Forest Borough Council is looking for safe and friendly places for 16 to 19 year olds to stay. Can you provide room only lodgings or supported lodgings?

If you have a spare room you could help provide housing for young people who need it. You could gain from the company of a young person and the opportunity to support them, build their confidence and practical skills like planning finances, shopping and cooking.

The Council will provide 24 hour support and thorough training as well as funding for the care of the young person. Monthly support groups run too so you can meet more people.

How to get involved

The Council is always looking for people who can provide comfortable and safe accommodation for young people.

If you are interested in helping support young people by providing a room only lodging or supported lodging in a shared household, a housing co-ordinator will arrange to meet you and discuss in more detail how the Supported Lodgings scheme works and how the Council will support you and the young person.

All accommodation will be assessed and approved by Bracknell Accommodation Scheme, which includes police checks, social service checks and health checks.

You will meet with the young person to see how you get on and discuss any potential issues.
