LSCB Safeguarding Toolkit
Bracknell Forest LSCB - ‘Safeguarding Children Together’
Bracknell Forest Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is keen to support all agencies that work with children and young people, directly or indirectly, to develop good Safeguarding practice.
Every professional and volunteer has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. Every employer has a responsibility to equip and support their staff and volunteers to do this.
This page is being constantly updated, to give you:
- An overview of key Safeguarding considerations that every Employer needs to consider;
- Signpost local examples of best practice that you can refer to, or use.
The key Safeguarding components that every Service/agency should have in place include:
- A Safeguarding Policy
- Safe recruitment and supervision guidance (for professionals and volunteers)
- Access to appropriate Safeguarding training
As a minimum, every employing agency is responsible for ensuring that all professionals and volunteers know:
- What to do if they have a concern that a child or young person may be at risk of abuse or neglect
- What to do if they receive an allegation about a professional or volunteer or have concerns about their suitability to work with children
- Where to go if they need help or advice with a concern about a child
- What constitutes ‘appropriate professional conduct’
- How to follow safe recruitment and supervision guidelines
