Anti-Bullying Group
The Anti-Bullying Group (ABG) was set up as a multi-agency forum to bring together representatives from all who are involved in dealing with bullying, whether working with victims or perpetrators.
The ABG is a multi-agency group which currently includes representatives from Youth Forum, Teachers, Police, Educational Psychology, Behaviour Support, Victim Support, Children’s Fund, School Nursing, Youth Service, Behaviour and Attendance Adviser, PSHE Adviser, Performance and Resources, Children’s Social Care, Crime and Disorder Reduction Team, Youthline Counselling Service and the Education Welfare Service.
Anti-Bullying work is now recognised as an integral part of the Safeguarding Agenda and since early 2007 the ABG has become aligned as a subgroup reporting directly to the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB).
Regular reports are also provided to the Crime and Disorder Reduction Team and the Children's Trust. The ABG bids for funding each year from the Bracknell Forest Safer Stronger Communities Fund and funding is currently not guaranteed beyond March 2008.
In recent years, the ABG has undertaken a number of projects aimed at raising awareness of bullying and supporting schools and other professionals with training and resources.
