Children's Fund - Aims
Our aim
The Bracknell Forest Children's Fund is all about making children's lives better. We receive money from the government to spend on new opportunities and programmes for children aged 5-13.
What are our goals?
We want to:
- Help children improve in school
- Reduce risks that cause youth crime
- Improve support and health care for children
- Make sure that children who are often left out of programmes and services are included
How will we do that?
By targeting the children who most need support and offering them the help they would like. We offer five kinds of support:
- Mentoring and counselling
- Family support and parenting
- Building self esteem
- Access to play and leisure facilities
- Information and advice
What have we done so far?
In April 2002 we received the money from the government. Since then we have:
- Established a partnership board.
- Funded 10 different projects
Now we want to:
- Develop our partnership
- Make sure our services are working well and continue to create new ones
