Children and Young People's Plan
The Children Act 2004 places a requirement on all local authorities to produce a Children and Young People’s Plan. This plan sets out the priorities for improvement in Bracknell Forest, which have been identified through rigorous consultation with children, young people, families and practitioners. It will support more integrated and effective working across all agencies working with children and young people and will contribute towards improving outcomes for children.
The plan describes what we are currently doing to identify the needs of children, young people and families, how we are prioritising needs and how we are going to put the plan into action.
All the key partners and stakeholders on the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership are committed to implementing the plan and contributing to achieving the identified local actions.

Children and Young People’s Plan - Review 2007
The CYPP, first published in May 2006, has just undergone its first annual review to determine progress made against the plan, highlight any areas where progress is not being made and refocus priorities and actions to ensure high standards continue to be met in services for children, young people and their families. Extensive consultation has taken place on the priorities including feedback from children and young people.
The revision of the CYPP was submitted to Ofsted on June 14 which forms the self assessment element of the Annual Performance Assessment (APA).
There are two documents which support the review of the Children and Young People's Plan:
Children and Young Peoples Plan Year 1 Progress Check (1421kb)
This document provides a comprehensive overview of the progress made in the past year in achieving the 25 priorities identified in the original Children and Young People's Plan 2006 - 2009. It tracks progress against the priorities and action plan and identifies areas for further development.
Children and Young Peoples Plan 2007 Supplement (1545kb)
The 2007 Supplement describes the positive progress made over the past year in achieving the priorities in the Children and Young People's Plan. It looks at some of the issues that have arisen and considers new areas for development.
