Definitive Map Modification Orders

Anyone who has evidence that the Definitive Map and/or Statement is incorrect or incomplete may apply for a modification order called a Definitive Map Modification Order (DMMO). An application might be to:

  • Alter the status of a route, eg from footpath to bridleway.
  • Add a route.
  • Delete a route.

Alternatively, a right of way may be diverted by applying for a Public Path Order (PPO) to be made under s119 of the Highways Act 1980 (or s257/261 of the Town and County Planning Act 1990 in certain cases).

The tables below list all recent and current Orders.
