Balancing Ponds
Balancing Ponds are specially engineered ponds that are designed to hold and store flood water in times of excessive rainfall.
The following parks and countryside sites contain balancing ponds:
- Allsmoor Pond
- Blackmoor Pond
- Farleymoor Lake
- Nash Pond
- Pope's Meadow
- Savernake Park
- South Hill Park
- Westmorland Park
The maintenance of these ponds is the responsibility of Thames Water. This includes the removal of dumped rubbish, the quality of the water and health of the fish stock. Contact details for Thames Water can be found to the right of this page.
