Children's Play Areas
The Borough Council provides 26 play areas across the Borough. Their locations have been chosen for the maximum convenience and safety of parents and children.
A metre high fence encloses each play area. This is to prevent children wandering off and, for hygiene reasons, to prevent dogs from gaining access to the play area.
Each play area is inspected weekly by a dedicated Play Area Inspector, to ensure that the equipment is in a safe and usable condition and that the site is clear of rubbish.
The service aims to undertake a rolling programme to update equipment and to provide new facilities in areas of high demand.
