Biodiversity Forum
Forum members attended the opening of Clinton's Hill on 14 June to celebrate the completion of the Breathing Places project. The project was led by the Bracknell Forest Natural History Society supported by Bracknell Forest Council. This small woodland site has been restored through path creation, scrub clearance, new interpretation and signs. Additional wildlife benefits were stag beetle loggeries created by the Bracknell Conservation Volunteers, planting of native wildflowers and the installation of various bat and bird boxes. For more details please visit the Clintons Hill page.
The Biodiversity Forum has been established to provide local people interested in wildlife with an opportunity to discuss local issues, share ideas and to have an input into the Council's approach to protecting wildlife within Borough, primarily through the Borough's Biodiversity Action Plan.
The Forum meets twice a year and currently includes representatives of parish councils, landowners, wildlife organisations such as the Wildlife Trust and RSPB, local interest groups such as the Bracknell District Urban Wildlife Group and interested individuals. New members are very welcome. If you are interested in joining, please use the details on the right to contact the Biodiversity Officer for more information.
