Northern Parishes Arts Week 2008
Bracknell Forest Borough Council is once again joining forces with the Northern Parishes to create an exciting and inspiring week of arts events on 27 October–2 November 2008 for the residents of Binfield, Warfield and Winkfield.
To give you a taste of the action we are delighted to announce that the fantastic James Campbell will be performing his ‘Comedy 4 Kids’, and Rosemary Harris (a poet for CBeebies forthcoming series, ‘Poetry Pie’) will be leading families on an adventure using drama, music, rhythm and rhyme games.
A full programme including details of how to book will be available on this page soon.
Crowthorne Carnival
Carnival Week: 5–13 July 2008

Community Arts Development was delighted to get involved in the Crowthorne Carnival 2008. We worked with professional carnival arts company ‘Street Processions’ to create a month long creative project at Edgbarrow Youth Centre and School. Participants took part in professional arts, dance, and DJ workshops, which culminated in the creation of their 1st Prize entry for the Youth Category in the procession. Plans have already begun to work with the Carnival Committee and Street Processions towards an even bigger and better Carnival in 2010, so watch this space!

More information on the fantastic 2008 Crowthorne Carnival can be found on the committee’s website.
Young Carers Project
May 2008. saw the culmination of a six week drama taster project with BFVA's Young Carer's club. Participants worked with Dave Farey from Troublemaker Theatre Company to learn a range of drama skills together. The image shows the project from week three where they learned to recreate wounds and injuries using special effects make up (no young carers were harmed in this project!). The project was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and BFVA are working with us and Dave Farey again on a week long summer school this August.
