Starting School and Primary School Admissions
If you have a child whose date of birth is on or between 1 September 2004 and 31 August 2005 you will be able to register online. Alternatively you can telephone the Schools Admissions Team using the number on the right hand side of this page from September 2008.
You can register by filling out the Primary admissions registration form and submitting it online (you do not need to print anything). This will register your child with the School Admissions Team, this is not an application form for a school place for your child.
If you have more than one child born on or between 01/09/04 and 31/08/05 you will need to fill out a separate form for each.
An application pack has been sent to all those who have registered. You should either complete and return the form by 30 January 2009 or apply online.The online application site is be open from 10 November 2008 to 23 January 2009.
Please note there is an error in the booklet that was sent out in the pack. On pages 9 and 10 the school starting year is 2010 and not 2009 as stated. There is also a change of wording on pages 56, 57, 58 and 59. A corrected version of the booklet can be downloaded from the downloads section of this page. An offer of a school place for your child will be sent by post on 24 April 2009
All of the secondary schools in Bracknell Forest are comprehensive schools. This means that they cater for children of all abilities. There are six maintained schools conveniently located throughout the Borough. The schools are:
- The Brakenhale School
- Easthampstead Park School
- Edgbarrow School
- Garth Hill College
- Ranelagh Church of England School (Aided)
- Sandhurst School

If you wish to apply to transfer your child from primary to secondary school in September 2009 please contact the School Admissions Team.
If you are moving into Bracknell Forest and require some general information on school places which you cannot find on these pages then either email school.admissions@bracknell-forest.gov.uk or call 01344 354023 or 01344 354144.
If you are moving from abroad you will need to come into the office with your child and bring in any relevant passports and visas before application forms can be issued.
