Does your enquiry relate to a public sewer? A public sewer is a sewer that is vested and maintained by a sewerage undertaker. Thames Water own and manage both the network of public foul and surface water sewers. To report an overflowing sewer, you should call Thames Water Utilities Customer Services on 0845 9200800. A private sewer is a sewer which is not a public sewer and so the maintenance lies with those properties serviced by it. Therefore you will need a drainage contractor to deal with any blockage. If you are uncertain if the pipe work is public or private contact Thames Water who should be able to advise.

The local water companies are South East Water and Three Valleys Water. These companies are responsible for the supply up to and including the water stopcock. You will find your water companies contact details on a recent bill.
Does your enquiry relate to an internal leak?
This is the responsibility of the home owner or landlord and will need the attention of a plumber.
Does your enquiry involve highway drainage, including road gullies and highway culverts?
If so please report it to the Council's Streetcare Division, either by telephone or email using the contact details on the right. Please ensure we have a precise location. Also please be aware we have limited resources and during periods of heavy rainfall we may have to prioritise works dependent upon the severity of the individual problem.
