Highways and Structures

Maintaining the condition of the Borough's highways and structures (such as bridges and retaining walls) is a significant responsibility.

The Asset Management Section acts as managers of the highway network, responsible for the management, administration and maintenance supervision of highways. This includes routine safety inspections, assessment of its condition, repair, and structural maintenance of the highway network (approximately 416 kilometres of road and 700 kilometres of footway and cycleway).

In addition, the section maintains all electrical installations on the highway and street drainage together with bridge and subway maintenance, street cleansing and cutting of highway verges.

If you notice any damage to the roads, please report it to the Council using the form on the right-hand side of this page.
