School Admission and School Exclusion Appeal Panels
What are the School Admission Appeal Panels?
School Admission Appeal Panels determine appeals lodged by parents where their child is not offered a place at their preferred school.
What are the School Exclusion Appeal Panels?
School Excursion Appeal Panels determine appeals lodged by parents against the permanent exclusion of their child from school.
Who is on the panel?
Each appeal panel is made up of lay persons (persons without personal experience in the management of, or the provision of, education in any school, except as a school governor or as a volunteer) and people who are experienced in education, such as former teachers and parents of registered pupils.
Are you interested in volunteering?
The Clerk to the Appeals Panels is currently looking to recruit people to serve on panels in each of these two categories. Service on such panels is voluntary, with training being provided and travelling expenses will be paid. The majority of these are scheduled throughout the year and are held during office hours.
If you would like to become involved in this interesting and rewarding work, please contact Hannah Coman or Kirsty Hunt on 01344 352209 or 352233 for further details and an information pack.
